Michael J. Schneider

Schneider - newMichael J. Schneider is a police officer with the Nassau County Police Department's Canine Unit.  A graduate of Niagara University, he has a degree in criminal justice with a concentration in business management.  Officer Schneider is certified by the New York State Municipal Police Training Council  as a canine handler and in  advanced narcotic detection.  He is a member of the North American Police Work Dog Association and the United States Police Canine Association as well. He is a field training officer and has received a congressional award for life saving given to him by representative Peter T. King, member of congress.  Officer Schneider started his career in law enforcement in 1992 with the New York City Police Department and transferred to the Nassau County Police Department in 1995. He is knowledgeable in adressing the special needs of service dogs and will act as our law enforcement liason.  Using his experience and knowledge, he will guide the foundation its efforts to assist in the care of these special dogs at times when they are in need.
